MESSAGE FROM THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Hello fellow WASHMO BLUES SOCIETY members,

We hope everyone is doing well, staying healthy and safe.

The WBS board would like to fill everyone in on what we've been doing and planned upcoming events.

During these trying times we've been doing what we can to continue moving forward. Unfortunately, we've had all our major fund raisers cancelled. However, we did manage to squeeze in the Blumenhof Weekend of Blues back in July. It was a huge success and fun was had by all! At this event, we gave out music education grants to two very deserving recipients; we also raised money for our music education fund and future events by conducting 50/50 raffles and raffling off a guitar.

In September we held a benefit for one of our members who recently lost his soul mate, suddenly and tragically. So, we did what we do. We partnered with Samuel Berton Distillery and Labadie Downtown association and had a Music Festival featuring 6 bands over 4 hours. All the bands donated their time and talents as did the many members who were on hand to help make this a wonderful event. All proceeds went to the cause.

Most of our upcoming events are on hold due to the Covid risk and social restrictions in place for our safety. We’re still planning on having our annual Christmas Party so check our website and Facebook Page for details on that in the coming weeks.

We want to be safe in all ways possible. Therefore, we decided to do mail in voting this year. We are also using this letter to solicit nominations for the open seats on the Board of Directors. If you are interested in becoming a board member or know someone who is interested in serving, please submit your nominations by email to:

or any other board member.
